"Empowering Veterans, Supporting Families, Building Futures"
Why give?
-
Veterans
When a veteran engages with the Matglen Veterans Hub, we frequently identify an immediate and legitimate need for assistance with food and travel costs. We aim to provide prompt support with basic necessities to protect health and dignity, offering emergency provisions and travel help where possible. While we do our best to meet these needs, resources are not unlimited; veterans understand that when we cannot supply direct assistance, referral to local food banks and complementary community services is available as an alternative.
-
Families
The MVH recognises the sacrifices veteran families make and is committed to supporting them; while veterans themselves often require assistance, their families also face unique challenges that deserve dedicated attention. We provide tailored services and resources for spouses, children, and caregivers—ranging from counselling and educational programs to peer support and practical guidance—to help them navigate transitions, manage stress, and access opportunities. By including family-focused initiatives in our planning and operations, MVH ensures a holistic approach to wellbeing so that the entire household benefits from stability, resilience, and connection to the wider veteran community.
-
Learn
The MVH runs the Matglen Veterans program, a three-week certified training course. Graduates get security, first aid, and health & safety training, certificates, and SIA licences when funding allows. In the past 12 months MVH trained 40 veterans and helped them into full- and part-time jobs with ongoing support. The Hub
Our mission at the Matglen Veterans Hub (MVH) is to provide an open, dedicated space created exclusively for veterans and their families, delivering a wide range of educational opportunities, collaborative interactions, and essential support services. Although the project is currently self-funded, we have encountered obstacles in securing a suitable premises in the heart of London to deliver these vital services to veterans, their families, and the wider armed forces community across the city. If you or your organisation can support our mission by providing funding, equipment, or access to an office, container, or other suitable space, please get in touch — the work we are doing is urgently needed. For more information or to discuss how you can help, please contact Ally Musthan at ally@matglenvh.org.
By investing in our courses you are directly empowering the Matglen Veterans Hub to provide services at the sharp end of veterans’ welfare. The Matglen Veterans Hub receives no government or military charity funding. That means the support we receive from people like you makes a direct, tangible difference to veterans and their families across London.

CICs are limited companies which operate to provide a benefit to the community they serve. The purpose of a CIC is primarily one of community benefit rather than private profit.
Examples of a CIC could be a direct welfare service to vulnerable people, or an activity that generates profits which are used to support a specific purpose such as a running a cafe where all profits generated are used to benefit the community.
A CIC operates in the same way as any other company. It has all the well understood characteristics of a limited company such as a separate legal identity; the ability to enter into contracts and own assets in its own name; and flexibility in borrowing and fund raising. The separate legal identity means that a CIC will continue to exist despite changes in ownership or management. The directors can be paid or unpaid and have the same rights and duties as any other directors.
CICs will become established as a brand of company that the public recognises and trusts and whose social purpose they understand.CICs are limited companies which operate to provide a benefit to the community they serve. An asset-locked body is a registered organization such as a community interest company (CIC), charity, Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), or a similar organization outside the UK. A CIC cannot nominate itself to receive its assets if it closes down. This rule ensures that its assets go to another community-focused organization. A CIC also cannot nominate an individual to receive its assets, even if that person helped the CIC.
